Dr. Yod-Ying Dhebtaranon
Dr. Yod-Ying Dhebtaranon (1945-2017) was a renown national figure of his deep knowledge in advanced sciences and of his contribution made to the country together with the health and healing of its people. As a multi-graduate, his professional background spanned over a number of sophisticated sciences acquired from all around the globe, namely, advanced cellular physiology, advanced human immunology, biochemistry and phytochemistry, as well as different disciplines of phyto-medicine. His Passion for The Health & Healing of Mankind
Dr. Yod-Ying spent the final few decades of his precious life in profound investigations, under one goal: to help relief sufferings of mankind from incurable diseases. With extensive backgrounds in life sciences and medical innovation, Dr. Yod-Ying founded The Bacteria & Virus Research Center (BVRC) in 1993, as an independent non-profit organisation, situated in Mahachai town, Samutsakorn province, Thailand. Despite the fact that the original establishment of BVRC was initiated for research of agriculture interest, Dr. Yod-Ying knew it could contribute so much more than that. For nearly 25 years, his works had served as the relief of lethal dis-eases of mankind and offered so much better quality of life of frail patients.
BVRC as an organisation was constituted not merely as an institution, or just a research center. On the other hand, it all grew out of a gigantic heart of one man to really help people. It started when Dr. Yod-Ying knew in his mind that he had a mission to accomplish, to truly relief human sufferings from incurable illnesses. As a remarkably intelligent scientist and clinician, he emphasised the utmost importance of not only medicinal efficacy but also its safety. Consequently, as opposed to utilising harmful synthetic drugs from technology advancements, his in-depth investigations resulted in discoveries of innovative productions of medicinal extracts from natural provisions of the earth, yielding the very safe and effective forms of high-potency medicines. The original delegation of BVRC was to perform research on prevention and treatment of microbial infections for agricultures. The assignment was to assist national cultivation for a disease-free farming in order to sustain better yields. As an intelligent immunologist, Dr. Yod-Ying thought beyond the classic science and went far into effective treatments. He started from analysing the conventional prevention of microbial infections, the science of vaccine. Conventional vaccines are often made from weakened or dead microbes which are then delivered into living organisms to produce anti-bodies and activate the immune system. The problem is that once the microbes in nature begin to create variants, that vaccination automatically becomes ineffective due to very specific memory to only the given strains and variants.
Instead of producing the conventional vaccines which would have to be created and given again every time there is a variation in the infection, Dr. Yod-Ying opted to set forth what could last forever, continually activating and benefiting the immune system. The medical literatures recorded attempts of various scientists from around the world since 1980’s to produce synthetic, better vaccines, yet there were no success. That inspired Dr. Yod-Ying to investigate deeper into molecular immunology. Molecularly, an area called antigenic determinant is well known among immunologists as to where antibodies attach to and activate an attack from the body’s immune system. Within the first 4 years of research, the successful results were bestowed up unto His Majesty King Rama 9, in 1997, which were then instructed for further application to mankind. From initial discovery, it took him altogether the fruitful 8 years in his intensive investigations. Dr. Yod-Ying ultimately created a breakthrough in immunology and medical biochemistry by successfully producing highly effective Nano-Fragment Super-Vaccines from molecular structures, so called the Antigenic Determinant Substance (ADS).
